It is highly customizable and allows a project manager or team leader to maintain visibility and track resources that are allocated to a project over its duration. The resource management plan should be developed in conjunction with the project plan and kept current as the plan evolves and as resources are changed.Resource Management PlanWhen to use itThe Resource Management Plan should be developed at the commencement of a project during the planning cycle. Once a detailed project plan has been developed, teams and roles will be identified to deliver specific work products, whereby individual resources can be identified and allocated to fill each of the necessary roles. The resource plan should be reviewed regularly and updated as resources roll-on and off and as the plan evolves over the duration of the program.Why use itThe ability of a program to deliver on its intended outcomes is a direct result of having the right resources, with the right skills, allocated for the right time / duration and working on the right things. Identify the roles that are needed to complete the delivery of the project.Step 2. Identify the resources that are being allocated to the project to fill the roles.Step 3. Capture start, end and time allocation for each resource.Step 4. Identify location, resource type, team and their team leader.Step 5. List the key focus areas, deliverables or objectives for the role or resource.Step 6.
